GB Championships in Cardiff

Allan McGregor and Hannah Craig were invited to compete in this year's GB Championships, held between 22nd and 23rd of October 2011 in Cardiff, Wales. Unfortunately, Allan could not attend, leaving Hannah to defend for the club.

No games were won by DBC, although its representative was able to steal two points from the reigning champion — considering this was a very high ranking competition with the best players from England, Wales and Scotland attending (including all the GB team), this was a fantastic achievement. Congratulations Hannah!

Andrea Law was also in attendance as a referee for the competition's two days.

Shock at Discovery Games

The club took part in this year's Discovery Games amongst 76 competitors from all over Scotland (including two from Team GB).

Hannah Craig (assisted devices), Margaret Torrie (assisted devices), Kristin MacMaster (physical disability), Tony Hutcheson (physical disability) and Kirsten Law (learning disability) took part.

Despite being on home turf, the team walked away with nothing! This is unprecedented and the team are spurred on to put in a great effort next time.
